Engine won't shut 0ff

Hi there....My engine will not always shut off on my BJ71, and when it happens the clutch gets really stiff. I understand that there is a switch on the engine itself that cuts off the air supply, and then shuts down the engine. Does anyone know where the switch is?

Thanks

Its likely your EDIC. Maybe it is just a dirty or loose connection if it is an intermitent problem. Search or do a post in the diesel section.

Your 13BT used a VSV which is located on the left side of the engine block, rear.

If you don't have the 3B/13BT manual either down load it from links off this site, or buy a copy. Follow the trouble shooting process with the VSV.

The VSV uses the vacuum system, same as your vacuum assisted clutch.

May be the VSV, but I think an intermittent vacuum leak. Either way, follow the manuals process and that should point direction.
