Shit Mate, your ride must be worse than mine! They would reverse easily as well I would think. Your shackles have no movement in them at all. I think OME springs are too short.

LOL The pic makes it look worse but it is bad. The rear must have gone up over 50mm without the steel tray.
Ill leave it till I know the exact weight I intend to have on in the future.
The ubolts look like they might need some work and the shocks are ordinary but functional
The ride was ok with 300 kgs + steel tray on the back axle.

Ya, I am pretty sure I will do a coil conversion next summer, too much to do n the cruiser this summer to tackle it. I will probably get a coil setup off an 80 or 100 series and install it, takes alot of the guess work and engineering hassles away from the problem.

LOL, now sure what to do - i have so much articulation now that the rear wheels rub hard on the frame - and no time to make longer bump stops. I have ordered wheel spacers and some other goodies though.
Wanna help me install an ARB front locker/compressor/air tank?
Or - how bad could a littel rubbing be eh??? Let's go - just have to grind the part of the frame support tube that sticks into the sidewall of my wheel first.
I'm working tomorrow att eh firehall - give me a call on my cell.

Hi Ross, I removed the number 3, 5 and the large overload flat spring, rides great now, but will probably have to put one spring back in when I really load it up - will test it soon. Articulation is pretty good - but can't tell exactly how much as the tires hit the chassis, as it sits right now the tires level are only about 2inches from the frame. I ordered spacers so that should help.

now you know what i was trying to explain. the softer the ride the more articulation.
air bag it and you will be able to keep the nice ride and carry a load when needed...

It weighs 800 kgs and the fuel usage is probably 10-20% more. Price is good and its ideal for a one man trip around oz or gold prospecting
The campers were owned by a large landcruiser rental company that changed their mind about campers.
They seemed to have branched into upmarket accomadation also ,maybe the campers were in conflict
They are only 2 years old and are fully equipped except a fridge, run on mains power or 12V.
One more oic ,sorryy Louis

Hi Guys, went out with Fromage today, plans were to go wheeling, ahemmmm, so anyway we got the the area and someone's "landrover" wouldn't go into 4x4. So the day was cut short with me doing some light wheeling while Fromage messed with his transfer case .
We made a short vid so you can hear the aeroturbine muffler and 3 inch mandrel bent system on my truck, you can't really hear the turbo in the video but this frigging thing spools up fast and churns out the power. I'm running 36 TSL super swampers on it now.
The ARB high capacity compressor went on today, the resevoir and front ARB locker might go in this weekend if the weather is ok.
Feel free to take cheap shots at Fromage

Oh, and saw this freak alien type spider on my tire - have never seen something like this before - nasty looking. Although - I think it was laughing at the rover

Cool video. Ive been out with LR owners. Their vehicles always find time to break down LOL.
Where did you mount the compressor and tank?
I have considered mounting mine under a cover on the tray or underneath the tray, between the chassis rails.
Last time I saw that spider was when I was wrapping your parts,I wondered where he went

Rosco - LOL, damn, looks like something from another planet - so Aus would be right! Actually the land rover owner got close to look at it and it attached itself to his face - haven't seen him since. The compressor is under the hood, it is the new one from ARB, I can extend the breather hose on it, so it is pretty waterproof. The tank will go under the flat deck, I could have probably put a 10 gallon tank under there but went with a 2.5 gallon.
Floyd, the leafs took about an hour to remove and replace, but i needed to have the U limiters/hangars or whatever they are called installed in a leaf - so that took an hour of driving and install time at a spring shop. All in all it took 2 hours.

There is no option for a 3 inch diesel muffler - they said it would be perfect. You can see straight through this muffler.

Bastages!
Shown up by Skebo once again
To be fair, Land-Rover has a lot of Cruiser parts, locations where they intersect (in this case, the front of the transfer case where it meets the Toyota driveshaft) are generally the most problematic.
Fixed.
We will meet again, good sir.

If you run american through babelfish ,gas comes out as petrol
No real difference between diesel and petrol mufflers. Ive been running the 3F muffler on my 73 series for 4 years.

think about it,
the reason for an exhaust system is to move the gasses from the side of the engine to a safe point away from the occupants and to make the noise acceptable to the public.
gas or diesel, the exhaust systems are the same material.
