Ok, got my PWR 4X10 water/air intercooler, bought a rad/fan and pump from siliconeintakes.com, just checked my compression and I have 600-620 in each cylinder. So, the install will begin next week, looks pretty easy, all I have to do is fab up a bend from the turbo to the intercooler. Found a place behind the cab for the rad and fan.
Pics coming soon.

I have an after market a/c system, the mines put them in some of them here, works great. So yes I do have the condenser in the front, I had the air/air intercooler there as well - and the 8274 winch - so I wanted to get something out of there - and I want to see how much of a difference this water/air system makes.

Just made a quick video of a drive out of my fishing camp. I had taken the intercooler out so I could get my new water/air intercooler all jigged up. So I couldn't really flog it too much as the EGT's would bump up pretty quickly - especially with the snowmobile and gas/gear on the back

Batteries for HZJ79R
Hello
I tried searching the forum but had no luck.
Could anyone please give me the correct size of batteries to use in the duel system of the HZJ79R ?
Thanks

Hi Kubu, I am using Odessey 1050's, they are a bit smaller than the regular battery that fits, but I made my own battery tray in order to fit the duals. The tray is 23 inches long. I'll take some more measurements today for you.
Wayne it was fun, just wish I had my intercooler so I could have really opened it up. The coils kick ass, night and day between the leafs.

Thanks guys, I have been playing a bit with it and I am pretty impressed. My front locker isn't working and I will be fixing it when I get my longfield birf's - but even now it is rocking.
So here are some pictures of the battery setup I changed to, dual Oddessy trolling thunders, I can run all my electrics and winch at the same time under full load and the truck doesn't go down in RPM, there is lots of juice in those batteries and they can be drained and charged fast.
I also removed the warn shitty solenoids and bought an Albright solenoid - amazing! I routed the controller plug into the grill and will install a switch in the dash when I get time. That winch pulls like mad with the mods. Will do some more mods later on.
The intercooler is working great, just running water in it now as I have to remove it to do a valve set and some other work. The intercooler rad is big and I mounted it in the bed as you can see. I don't carry anything on my truck but I will be making a protective cover for it. It seems to be very efficient as it hardly gets warm while the intercooler itself is always nice and cool even after a hard drive. I am getting better performance out of it that the air/air intercooler that is for sure. The intercooler piping is crude but works for now - it goes in for fabing in the next couple of weeks, will clean that up.
The empty battery tray is for my dual ARB heavy duty air compressors, will be able to run my air tools at capacity with no probs.
Next on the list this summer, new marlin crawler r151 (rated for 1000hp), new transfer case, ceramic coated turbo housings and manifold. Next year the engine comes apart and everything gets replaced and coated.

Oh, and the truck goes in for a repaint this summer - and everything else gets powder coated.

Ya Im not sold on the air myself - elocker is nice.
You'd need a snorkel - have one on yours? That isn't the deepest water crossing either, there is one spot that could be somewhere on the windshield on my truck - so maybe 5-6 feet.

both trucks have snorkels, i have water locked in the past. not a lot of fun or cheap.
the deepest i have made it through is half way up the windshield, the pucker factor was definately there.
of course if i bring the topless ragtop then it could get interesting... fast.

They said my bed was completely submerged and all they could see was the upper part of my cab -would have looked a little funny.

No Problem Mate! Nice talking to you the other day, you were very helpful. I found the 4terrain clutch for 520 aus. 270 to ship it!
I'll have the tranny out in August so I will know what I have for sure then. I just bought a 1HZ with H55 and transfer from Japan - so there will be a 1HZ engine mod addition to this post - gonna make it produce so big power!

so big power... kids.
you stole that one from Dave, you bugger.
LOL!!
can't wait to see the thread, there was a guy in Alberta that had torn down a 1HZ to produce "so big power" had a SC for it as well and lost interest. it will be nice to see what yours turns out like.

If all goes well I will do it over the winter - just depends on my snowmobile projects But I am pretty sure I will want to get it done, I like experimenting on cruisers.
I'm going to use HPC coatings on every engine part I can as well as use new pistons and all kinds of other parts, just need to find out what to use - I know nothing about building engines.
I'll also need a 1HDT injection pump if anyone knows where I can get one.
Does the guy still have the torn down engine and the supercharger?

Did you end up getting your 100 series rims to fit?

Yes I did! I had to use 2 inch spacers though They work well now.
One day I'll get proper rims - bit I am set for the time being.
