FJ73 engine change

Do know anyone who has done a conversion with a 1fzfe toyota engine into a 1986 FJ73 landcruiser currently with a 3f engine and a 5spd manual gearbox. I would like to retain the manual gearbox if possible and bolt the engine in using a flywheel adapter or something similar.
any help would be much appreciated

Hi Justin .I suspect it would be a whole lot easier to use the H150 gearbox that the early 80 series had and sell your old 5 sp.

I think you would need the t/case that comes with the 80 series gearbox.
I would get underneath a FZJ75(not easy to find) or a HDJ78/79 and have a good look. I think the gearstick positions in the floor are pretty close to the older types like your 73
From memory they use some linkage trickery to exit the floor in the same place
