2lt Fuel Consumption
2lt Fuel Consumption
On the average the 2LT on my LJ71, 1987 is giving just 6.25 kilometer toa liter. I think it should give at least 8. Right or wrong? Also what can be done to improve the consumption? Sajid |

somethings wrong
1L - 10 kms or 10L - 100kms roughly. I say this with mixed city/highway driving use.
You are talking the 2lt with roller rockers / black valve cover, non-efi right? Are you revving high - over 3000rpm will eat fuel. What size tires? big tires = more fuel. Driving in sand? Tire pressures OK? Start with basic diagnostics, fuel filter, air filter, then do a compression test.... Good luck! __________________ 88 LandCruiser HJ61, ARB springs, other bush goodies 87 Hilux LN65 stock 92 Hiace SCL |

I have a 2LTE in a 92 Prado. I'm getting about 6km per litre city, and about 9 ish Hwy. From what I've gathered this is not so good, I've done the fuel/air filter. I looked into faulty injectors, but there is no black smoke (no sign of poor combustion)? And to get those numbers I was concious about my right foot, with mild 33's tires.
I'll try a compression test, but is there any other ideas? (2lt/2lte) Thanks, Joel. |
