does a tuffy fit in the back of a hzj73

Hey, I was wondering if a Tuffy 058 or 063 SECURITY DRAWER would fit in to the back of a hzj73 with the rear seat in place. Its dimensions are 30”L, 35 3/8”W, 13”H. I would check my cruiser except that its some where in the middle of the pacific ocean. I'm sure it fits between the wheel wells from looking at some other posts, but not sure about between the rear seat and the doors.

I doubt you will get the depth with the seat in place. They sound like they are made for a 60 series.
I think the distance from rear doors to the seat is about 24 " from memory(its dark) and the seat slopes back

I can tell you that a tuffy center console will fit if you take out the heater in the center console. Sorry don't know about the drawer, but I saw one of the tuffy drawers in a 40 series and if it would fit in a 40 series it should fit in an 70 series no problem.

cheers,
Michael

I built a set of drawers for my 74. Fitting behind the rear seats, 30" deep, 39.5"wide, but only 7.5" tall to just clear the wheelwells. I think if it was 13" tall you would foul on the back of the seats.

Well I ended up getting one used for a good deal and found out first hand. Yes the the angle of the rear seat got in the way, but just a bit. The drawer has a handle and lock button that stick out about an inch also. I ended up taking a few hours to cut two inches off the outer case and drawer it self. Basically cut the factory welds out and cut and re welded, a few odd spots but not to bad. A little black paint and she fits nicely in the back of my hzj73. I think if there was no handle or the lock button it would fit right against the rear doors, if you don't have speakers there like I do. Now I have about an inch of clearance.
