76 series land cruiser locker
Hi guys, I was wondering what options are available for the following land cruiser in terms of auto lockers, like lockrite or detroit locker, I am in the U.S. but do not know much about 70 series cruisers.
Most sites I visited only specify the fj40-60-80 applications. how do you relate 70 series to those? are the axles the same as 76 series? Cruiser on hand: model:KG-HZJ76K-RKMES Engine :1HZ Frame:HZJ76-0003298 trans/axle R151F K284 from looking at the following site it has a 9.5", 4:30 4 pinion differential. Toyota Differential Identification - Toyota at Off-Road.com also are the lockers the sam for front and rear axle? Thanks in advance for any help. Vadim |

Most any Land Cruiser locker will fit, but you will have to provide some details. In any case, don't worry - you have lots of choices.

Interesting see that you have the R151 instead of the usually ( as far for us ) H150 that come with the 1HZ engine ..
Post a pic but I thought you have the front reverse cut 8" HP 3rd member and the rear 9.5" so lock right, EX locker, Detroit, No Slip, ARB for rear .. For front I only recomend a selectable locker .. that in your case ould be ARB of the factory $$$$ one .. ( electric or cable with proper long splined axles to suit it ) |

A gearbox shop told me they just wear out everywhere, shift forks also ![]() It was originally a Supra gearbox. Most of my friends wih 105s or 79s rebuilt the gearbox before 150000klms. If it is a one owner and driven very gently to church each week, then it maybe ok ![]() The H55f,H150 and H151 are ok They also had the 8" front diff which was based on a Hilux design and that was another problem. __________________ HZJ75 cab chassis 95 model ,stocker FJ73+1HZ Diesel NEW GEARBOX 1HZ =same power as 3F with 30% better fuel economy 2in Dobinsons lift.Powerdown adj shocks 33 in BFG A/T HJ61 with slidin windas regrettfully SOLD:(Volvo 740 GL |
