accident blues update

looks like they might write off my bj74. Hmm what to do next? My wife is now worried about rollover as I landed in my left side. Do I get another 74 or try for an 80? I could possibly try to keep the wrecked 74 and pull the 13bt. I could put that motor in a an LHD 80. The adjuster said alot of cars are coming from accidents and from what I gather ICBC does not seem to like RHD JDM units. I get the feeling they will seriously try to do somthing about this.

We havent seen any pics so its hard for us to say.

The 7* series parts are valueable and probably worth more than what they will let you buy it back for.
If you have the room ,you may want to part it out or maybe repair it as parts and funds become available.

IMO the 13BT in an 80 would not be a winner. I would use the insurance money and the sale of parts to buy a JDM 80 diesel or a buy local FJ80 and fit a 1HD T.

when my prado got written off, I used the money to build up a 74. You are right ICBC does not like the JDMs, they have already made a fuss about them and how unsafe they are because of RHD. I would use the money to get something you like and be done with it.

P.s. everybody in the Lower Mainland wants a 13bt for their projects, I know of at least 5 people in the Cruiser club. If you could buy it back cheap you could easily double or tripple your money quicker than you think.

sorry to hear of your bad luck. I hope everything works out. If you get the truck back I would be very interested in your right side door, mirror, rear doors and some other goodies. Let me know if you are parting anything out. thanks J
