Looking for Tough Pictures of MWB 70 Series

Hi Guys,

I currently have a BJ73 MWB Cruiser and am looking for motivation to keep it and make it look tougher.

Anyone got some pics of jacked up mud tyres 73's ? Roof off pics would be great also.

Cheers,

Brad

Rhinorack Commercial.

Can pick em up off the shelf all over the place in Australia. They're made of alum and rated to like 300kg. But you're not supposed to put more than 150kg on the FRP top.

Entaran which owner of that rig are you? Current bloke going the1UZ with it, the bloke who blew the motor or the bloke before?

I very nearly bought it a few weeks ago myself!!

And will the top keep up to that?
I had a similar set up once ( homebrew) but the top started to crack in the upper corners of the back-doors so I replaced the rear supporting points by struts towards the body near the back-doors.
You can see that here: http://forum.ih8mud.com/70-series-tech/126529-newbie.html

That rig has a full rollcage underneath that top so yeah, i'll support the weight.

The fella who blew the motor and the fella who is putting the 1UZ in it is the same person and he lives about 4 blocks from me. I owned it before him and originally purchased it from Whyalla in SA and drove it 14 hours back here.

I have hundreds of photos of stupid shit done in that car but I don't thrash my engines. Mick's a little harsh with his right foot but it'll temper with age. If you're from the Ballarat area Hulsty, send me a PM and we'll catch up sometime.

Didn't realise we could get a 74 in Malaysia. Can you send me details price and how I find one as I'm looking for another 70 series or a 40 to build for comp and would prefer a 74 to a 40. Im in Kuching next weekend for the RAINFOREST MUSIC FESTIVAL.

I must have had my eyes closed when I was in SABAH last december and KUCHING 2 years ago never saw a FRP Cruiser.

The light duty LC have coil springs like the 4runner. It have 2" OME and 2" body lift. With the wide fender and some cut out it runs certified with 38". Im not shure what tyres it is. He changed to 60 front brakes and HiAce rear brakes.

If you follow this link:

you will find yourself in the middle of an album of our trip to the northern part of russia in 2005. There might be some more interesting pictures.

I went into a local 4wd shop and he rung Rhino in Sydney while I was there.
The shop owner and myself were very skeptical as it involves drilling into the FRP.
It means you are relying on a few threads of self tapping screws and 2-3mm of FG.
The FRP tops are,IMO,too precious and hard to find to go experimenting with them.

On a fibreglass boat where they have things that bolt to the FG ,they have big thick reinforced sections where the stress can be spread over a larger area.
