Update time,

Took the cab off, cleaned the whole chassis/engine/tranni/transfer, totally cleaned out chassis rails of all dirt and mud... they were absolutely chokkas!
Acid bathed everything, now ready for engine out, and chassis mods.

Who is doin the gearbox and t/case and how much?
Get a good clutch and put your driveshafts in for balancing
The flywheel should be ok with low klms.
I used one of those heavy duty Exedy clutch kits and it feels really good now.
It also got rid of some noises diesel gearboxes make, like a grinding/groaning noise as you accellerate away.

Does your chassis have a spot for a spare tyre?

havnt got quotes on the boxes as yet,

New drive shafts are going to be made later on with double cardinan joints so i wont bother with the drive shafts.

LOL flywheel still has its machining marks so you can almost count the amount of revolutions its done, clutch is new, but you rekon i might go HD? Might be money i dont need to spend..

Pfft noises... just turn sound system up lol!

So whats the plan? Get it up and running then do the lift,or do everything at once which is not good

Update:

As i said, the drive train is out, i also took the cab home to strip and clean totally. (long process). Im fixing or replacing all the interior dash, roof lining, door trims. Then im getting them all painted mat black with that special fabric paint.

Then it all goes back in, engine bay painted, then outside painted later.

See the crane ute, another ute to add to the collection lol, not mine though

Is the clutch from the 105 series gearbox the same as the H55f gearbox?

Your lucky your boss doesnt mind you doing all that work on his premises.
Of course your doing it all in you own time

Where have those 75 spent their work life, goldfields? Nice clean chassis

rims are 15x10's and are op lock racing rims with oversize bead huggers, so dont try to put a tyre on them without a machine.... impossible

cost me like $110 each i think

I envy you guys who have the patience and know how to take on a project like this. Sure looks and sounds as though you have some work in font of you.

Great photos and good luck with the rebuild. Its sure going to be an awesome truck once complete.

Whats the biggest thrill?? building it?? or using it once you have built it?? Whats in line for it once complete.

Thanks dude,

Building it is hard work and unforgiving but a great experience. I wouldn't pass it up for the world.

When its done i can try it out and see what my hard work has achieved - that being the greatest part...

Once finished i will endeavor to license and roadworthy it after a while, if i cant it will be strictly off road and then... ill go much further with it.

Just looking at some of your earlier pics, you've done a fait bit already when you look at it. Just noticed the last pic, with the heater controls. Its the same aircon controls as my new truck. 1st 70 series trucks sold with aircon standard here in NZ, bout time.!!. Ive had some hot dusty trips in my old 91 75.
With those big rims and the spacers, do you need to do anything with bearings etc, must put a big load on things, (axles etc) especially considering the horsepower you will have with the garret turbo. I see you giuys can get heavy duty axles and diffs, are they a local manufacture, or the old axles etc, heat treated to make them stronger?? Sorry bout all the questions, I would'nt mind a 75 play truck, but don't have the know how or the shed space. Theres a fair chance I would end up living alone as well, but a tricked 75 would just about be worth it

Did I say that??
