suspension lift

Hello everyone, im a newbie at all of this so bear with me if i ask something dumb...
Im planning on purchasing a 70 series Land Cruiser soon, im looking for a 2-door model with the 6 cyl diesel engine (not quite sure what the model number is really )
If i do buy the vehicle, i was to put a suspension lift kit on it, but i have not been able to find one, yet i see so many pictures of beautiful lifted 70 series with 31'+ tires. Where can i find a descent suspension lift for this truck?

btw.. i live in Nicaragua, so if there is an internet store available it would really help

Thank you for any replies

Hi and welcome. A 6 cyl 70 would be a FJ70 or a FZJ70 and if its a diesel it would be HZJ70.

There is lots of suspension options. The rears are the same as a 60 series wagon and the fronts are common to all 70-75 series.
Try putting in names like Beltons ,Old man emu,Dobinsons, Ironman,Tough dog and Im sure others can think of some more.
Most of them are Australian derived

Hello and welcome.

The 73 came with a 1HZ 6cyl diesel.
But may I ask you want a 6cyl?
How big of tires do you want to run?
I would think a turbo 4cyl (13bt) would be enough.

Also much lift do you want?
Once agian, how big of tires?
SPA would probably net 5-6 inches+
But a 2-3 inch lift and leaving spring under would probably be better.

All depends what you want.
Have any truck pics of what your after?

Cheers,
Nick

I have an Old Man Emu on my BJ74 -- without a doubt it is worth every penny ..... very well engineered.

toughdog

Im running Toughdog 75mm lifted leafsprings with adjustable in cab toughdog shocks, extended front shackles and rotating dropdown rear shackles that are pined for on road . 50mm body lift . Im running 33" tyres but would run 35" s no problem . The in cab shock compressor is only 12v so you need a 24/12 converter . I find this setup great in my bj74 both on and off road and it handles jumps quite well !!!!

I own an HZJ70. Since in Peru is very difficult (if not impossible) to find good suspension products, what we did is just enlarge the suspension shackles about 2 inches each. I know it's not the best approach, but works very good.
I have now 31 tires, although i'm high enough to go for 33 at least (they are very difficult to find also :S)
