Just curious, can cb antennas work wehn mounted horizontally. I just thinking about mounting either one or two horizontally on my yakima basket.

I'm currently running a 4 foot firestik that mounts on the back via a door jam mount that goes in the rear hatch.

The firestik is nice but its not a "whip" style so it easily gets caught in trees and does give much.

I am thinking of going the yakima route, a 4 foot whip that will take tree better or possibly even an 8 foot francis whip that will mount in my ucrrent place, fold over and maybe zip-tie to the yakima 1A crossbars...might look pretty sweet too.

Any opinions....let mmm fly.
