We had a lot of rain last Winter. Snow in the mountains causes this area (Chiva Falls) to flood. I had two amazing trips there last winter. I haven't added these to my webiste yet but here's a shot from that trip. Basically we went from the Chiva Falls Trail up Tanque Verde Creek to the Pools. We were in the creek for several minutes total. There were 5 or 6 times I was in this deep and was in this deep for up to a minute at a time:
