High Altitude/Low altitude- what adjustments?

Hi,

Bought me an 87 from Utah. Up in salt lake. Anyway, the owner said the car was adjusted for the high altitude of Utah (i think he said the carb), and I live 3 miles from the Pacific. No more than 50 ft above sea level.

What adjustments need to be corrected for my low altitude?

Danke

i see you've gotten a lot of views and i think the other guys are tired of the "try the search" jokes. i found this and you can do the same by putting in 'altitude adjustment' into search.

I hate it too when folks direct you to the archives instead of help ya out . OK, for altitud up or down the main mod to the carb will be rejeting. Ask PO if he actually did mod the jets in the carb. If he did you need to swap em out and put the standard jets for sea level. Check a service manual, all in all about 30min of work. Once you are done you will need to readjust mixture on the carb and idle speed, Oh and dont forget to time the engine.
