What about anyone who specializes in cruisers in the Northeast any farther north than Maryland? I don't want to drive 7 hours or more to get work done on my truck.

Cruiser Solutions
Hampstead, NH
603-329-9999
Owner: Tedd Brown
Website: http://www.cruisersolutions.com/

Tedd is a SUPER nice guy. They do incredible restorations (bring lots of $$), but also do general repair, mostly on 40/45/55/60/62 series. They now offer new aluminum tubs and beds for 45s!

Oh yeah, say hi to my son Steve if you go there, he works there full time now.

Sorry to bust in on the thread, I'm sure Mike will boot my ass soon.

Yea.. I/m a very silly boy, I've been meaning to get to Cruiser Solutions and they are only 55 or 60 miles from me.

I'm sure the effort will be worth it if I ever can get there between work and all the other daily stuff that everyone one of us has to do every day.

I've had some work done here. I wouldn't call them awesome, but they are better than a lot of places.

I saw a post for a couple places in Charlotte. Does anyone know of any more in the Charlotte area?

Landpimp swears by BillyBob's Off-Road in Puyallup. He takes all his cruisers there - and judging by the size of his fleet, that means they know a lot about cruisers!

Then of course there are two emerging mechanics in Ballard! (choke, choke, cough, cough)

i'm ASE certified in: Engine repair, manual drivetrain and axles, steering and suspension, and electrical systems.
i work at an import auto salvage so i mainly do r&r.
i've done everything on my fj60 except the rollcage and the pinion angle since i can't weld.
things done to my fj60: pulled eng. and trans. to pressure wash it, installed new clutch, new rear main seal, new t-case output shaft seals, new oil pan gasket, new input shaft seal and gasket on transmission, new head gasket, new valve cover gasket, new fan clutch and fan, new cap and rotor, new spark plug wires, new accessory belts, all seals and gaskets for front and rear axle assemblies, new manifold gasket, wired in new stereo, installed 4" speakers on each door, 400 watt amp to power 10" sub, installed painless wiring kit for front and rear fog lights and carb fan.

i prefer working on import cars but will tackle just about anything
i've also done the things listed below in my signature

I've only seen my Cruiser in there but Gus knows his stuff and they are very honest while trying to only fix what needs to be fixed. They have been working on my rig for 10 years and it's still going strong.
Ditto on Comprehensive Car Care. Those guys know their cruisers inside and out. I had them come highly recommended from one of my International Scout buddies.

I saw the post on cruisersolutions.com, but that is a little out of my way (2.5 hours). If anyone knows of anything in the CT area, I would be much obliged, but would do that trip if I must.

Don't have a 60 / 62 but like the previous Charlotte poster mentioned, it's a dealer so it costs more, but ask for Jason McCurdy at Scott Clark Toyota on Independence Blvd in Charlotte.

He takes care of all of the things on my trucks I don't do myself and he's always honest, fair and goes out of his way to make you satisfied. He works hard to keep you happy. Tell him Andy sent you.

I would be interested in a reputable, competent Indy suggestion in the Charlotte area if anyone has one.

Andy

CORRECTION: Just called the dealer with a question and Jason McCrudy is no longer there after 10+ years.

Bobby Dills inherited the cruiser techs in the back and is who I'll work with moving forward.

Still interested in an indy suggestion in the Charlotte area if anyone has one.

Thanks.

Anyone know of any good mechanics near Ithaca New York????? NH and cruisersolutions is about a 7 hour drive from us and i don't think bertha will make it there in any reasonable condition. We are in the Syracuse-ish area. I am shell shocked from having my truck butchered and my wallet emptied too many times by Northeast mechanics. What's the deal with the serious lack of any good folks in New York or anywhere in the Northeast besides CS????

PLEASE HELP!

Since noone has posted for FL, I have had a decent experience with the following folks, but if I change my mind I will come back and edit.
L.E. Toyota Repair
1811 SW 67th Ave.
Miami, FL 33155
305-263-9868
Luis Fernandez has been helping me and he's an honest nice and so far inexpensive mechanic. I am using him currently for a few things.
B&R Foreign Car Repair
Somewhere on Commercial Lane, next to "The Wizard"
South Miami, FL
(305) 661-5077
Gary and his brother and all the folks are really nice, been there 25 years. They do good work, they are reliable. Not inexpensive at all. But if you need it done and done right they haven't done my family wrong with a Volkswagen, Volvo, Toyota LC FJ60, Toyota Corolla and a few others.

Bay Area, CA ~

I got great general service from Troy at Superior 4-Wheel Drive. Was very patient and knowledgeable answering all my questions.

Also ditto on Gary @ Mudrak in Sonoma. Managed to drop a lot of cash there but he fixed me up right and always is patient when I call him with panic service questions. Thanks Gary!
