PAFJ - I like the factory painted rims. Rattle can? Did you do alot of prep work on them before painting?

Oh, by the way, that looks to be one clean 60. You must be proud.

Thanks, I had them powder coated by a local shop. He blasted the chrome first, then powder coated.

Finally some pictures!!! Thanks Brian for the help!

Hi
Joined this morning. I own a 9/88 FJ62, 166879 miles. This is my 4th wagon(all 62's) and 1 1998 UJZ100, and I have had 5 FJ40's!
Yesterday spent the day switching all fluids(except engine oil) to AMSOIL synthetic gear lubes, and ATF: Drove it today, what a difference in shifting! Not sure yet about switching to synthetic engine oil as my truck already has a few small engine leaks, and don't wish for more(bigger). Picked up this truck a few months back $3700 in Moab. Runs great, just has lots of dents, no real rust. I am leaving on a cross country trip next week in the FJ62.
So far no lift, 31" BFG's, KN air filter, AMSOIL fluids, Thule rack. Plan on OME lift, 33"s, and better rack. I live @ 9318 ft. above sea in Silverton Colorado. Drove over Ophir Pass this morning to break in the new fluids/check for leaks; nice none!
I am looking for a fender for the front r-side(inner as well).
Living so high elevation, the truck still seems to get 13-15 mpg, and pulls good up the passes here. Can't wait for the snow to fly, and wheel the truck skiing everyday this winter. I am retired military, now surfer, mountain biker, ice climber. Spent about 4 years without any FJ's, and it drove me nuts! Made the mistake of trading for Defender 90; never again... Just wanted to introduce myself and truck. I am posting photos of ALL of my Toyota's on my web page, take a look= [url] //web.mac.com/mikepierson/iWeb/Mike%20Pierson/About%20Me.html Thanks!

My FJ

Hi All,
This is my truck. Today I named him "Pepe". Went camping this weeken and a wayward skunk hitched a ride home via a nice nook on top of the gas tank. The skunk is gone, but the stink is still there.
The truck is a 1986 fj60 with 12000 miles, no rust and all stock except for the roof rack and painted black bumpers.

My 'new' FJ60

1984 FJ60
Jimmy Page(not that one)
I don't name cars
258800 miles
New engine, tranny, carb, header, muffler, paint, carpet, front seats.
Future mods(wish list...too many hobbies to do this soon): OME suspension/lift, snorkel?, wheels/tires, big, nice sounding stereo(may conflict with snorkel).
Will be used in the snow/ice/salt instead of my sports car for DD duties. Also some light wheeling and camping. Hauling stuff for myself and friends.

More pictures of your paint please. I think its the same as mine. That would make you the only other cruiser with the same color, that I've seen and mine was pro repaint. Is that the original color or was it repainted?

This may be an odd question, but did you used to live in Pioneer California? That rig looks really familiar.
