Hey stinky, it's a junkyard special. Paid $15 for it from a yard outside Reno, NV. I believe it was from a jeep cherokee. yes........ a jeep. :-(

My Beast
Hey FJ60_cruiser, my 2F (original ) only has about 150K miles. Still pretty new in my book, my UZJ100 has close to 110K and that's a 2000 model. I've got quite a few more years left. The Beast behaves real well on the road, I haven't taken it off road with the 38s, with my old 35s, the Beast went where ever I wanted. Believe it or not, I still have stock gears (unlocked of course). Will get gears in the next month or so. I can easily hit 65 MPH (limit on Michelin XLs anyway) as long as I don't go uphills, I can maintain that speed. Gas mileage>? Not an issue..... hehehehehe

Cool stock gears hehe , another quiestion, I asume you were also running stock gears when 35's so how did you felt the cruiser on and off-road?

I didn't have any problems with gearing. I could go as fast as 75MPH (estimated of course- a little bit faster than most traffic out here in Cali), crawling wise- it was a little different, but usable. Definitely could have used gears of course but it still went through 80% of the stuff I wanted to go through. later!

I really haven't monitored gas usage but the last time I drove it from Cali to Reno (roughly 400 miles)- I was still able to get roughly twelve miles to the gallon. That's with 35s, three adult riders and full seabags. No too bad right?

1986 FJ60
Driver's name: Mike (and Jen once she learns to drive stick) Rig's name: 'Anglin's Honorable Joseph War Machine the First' named like the pedigreed dog that he is - we call him 'the Beast' for short. Mileage: 211,xxx Current mods: knocked off passenger side mirror, some bits of trim in the cargo area rather than on the body where they belong Future mods: De-trim and de-badge, New paint, removal of spot of rust on hood where paint is worn away (the only rust on the entire truck - aren't arizona cars great?), needs a stereo (PO had it stolen three times and gave up), maybe new bumpers, anything needed to keep it running well. Used for: hauling stuff from home depot (et al.), transporting dirty dogs, camping, helping friends move, getting my fix of manual transmission (other cars are auto) ![]() sorry for bad, back-lit picture, will put up a new one when i take it. __________________ 86 FJ60 (Dog Hauler/Camping/Home Depot Rig - Been a dream truck of mine since they came out) 97 Volvo 850 Turbo Wagon (Daily Driver - nerdy but fast, a sleeper) 05 Mzda3 SP23 (Wife's Car) Last edited by 1986fj60; 12-11-06 at 03:53 PM. |

Nice rig and great site, Magni81. I really like the scenery in the pictures (Myndasafn, right?). The 4x4s are very stout too! You guys are pretty serious there about your vehicles.
