Welded some pieces of tube to the tops of my pins to make them easier the grab and painted them body color.

Went out for a short little run today. Nothing crazy. My buddy was camera guy and all he took were videos. This used to be a cooler trail but the skidders went through and leveled it all.

Finally got around to looking at why the rear xfer lever was always popping out of low. Took off the shifter boot, pulled back the carpet and removed a bit of sound deadening crap. Saw rub marks on the shift lever where it was was making contact with the floor pan and used a deburring bit on my drill to trim the offending edges. Before putting everything back together I took it for a short drive and shifted into low in the rear 4 or 5 times to see if it would pop out of gear which it didnt. Hopefully thats the end of that.

Next, I have to figure out why my speedo stopped working. My CB didnt work on the last ride either so we must have messed something up when we put the new deck in. If it stops raining today I might actually get to installing the pinion guard....

Effed around with the van a bit today. Managed to get the pinion guard on without issue but now I noticed some movement in the u joint after putting the straps back on. Dont know if it was there before but its almost like the straps arent holding the caps in place, just the notches in the yolk. Didnt want to torque too much on the strap bolts since Ive heard that the bolts snap spontaneously if you over do it. Took it for a rip and everything is normal but I ordered some straps and bolts form the chet dealer just in case.

While I was under there (which is actually kind of nice with all the room lol) I ran new xfer and trans breathers all the way up the firewall. The xfer "breather" tube that was on there was about 6" long and didnt do shit to stop water from getting in. The tranny just had an open 90* fitting.

Also mounted the first aid kit in the cargo area. I pulled the panel, cut a couple strips of 3/4" plastic to span between the sheet metal, mounted the plastic plates to the body supports?, replaced the panel, and screwed in the box. Its solid, functional, and looks kind of cool to boot.

Figured out where Im gonna store the hearing aid lookin van this winter.

Bam!

Peanut butter and Jam!

With Peeties help I got the old crap ripped out and most of the new framing in place. I cut a hole between the floor joists so the garage door will open straight up into the loft. All thats left to do is to run the framing for the garage door track in the loft and some trim work. New door should be in next week.

Miscalculations actually worked in my favor this time around to boot. The van clears with at least 5-6" to spare instead of the 1.5-2" I previously thought I would have. Thats with 20lb in the tires.

Had some cans taking up space for a couple years now and John (disco) gave me a mount the other day so I bitched together a bracket to fit my carrier.

I Made 2 1/4 " plates for the top of the carrier main tube and welded nuts to the bottom. I then drilled out the carrier tube and sunk the bolts into it and welded the scab plate up. 4 1/2" grade 8 bolts hold a bracket I made out of some L channel to the carrier. The bracket has tabs and the gas can mount is bolted on with 4 1/2" carriage bolts.

Quick little project that turned out okay.

That is one bad as truck, man. How are the rocker sliders attached? I'm guessing some tube extentions to the side of the frame?

Thanks guys.

The sliders have outriggers that are welded to the frame.
