looking to upgrade to some type of hubs that are not manuel locking. A in dash push button setup would be nice. also wondering if you could steel a system off any other toyota at the junk yard.

mostly looking so that i can switch between 2 low and 4 low without getting out to lock hubs.

Just grind out the shift gate. That will allow you to shift from 4WD to 2WD in low.
The best part is it's a free mod.

The only electric system I know of uses a thermal actuator to engage/disengage the pinion gear in the differential. This is used By GMC on some of their 4WD trucks.

Just do the '2 lo mod' mentioned already. Grind the shift gate for a 60, and unplugging one wire in the TC on a 62.

Any one have a link to some pics of this being done. I'm a little confused to how this works.

Now that this is a street machine also. Would i have any problems with it jumping in to 2lo from high or popping in or out of modes being that it has been grinded. I just dont want to be going down the road and it acidently being knocked into another mode.

Not if everything is properly adjusted.

also does this cut down the lfe of your gears or cause any additional strain.

Not if you don't try to shift the front output while the truck is moving.

I just cut the bracket i didn't even remove it from the truck I just cut it with a sawzall. thanks for the help.
