Brake Master Cylinder
Does anyone have any experience in using a Napa or other after market master cyclinder as opposed to a OE Asian one?
Big price difference. I have been told stick with Toyota oe but I have used other napa parts and really have not had problems

Any new MC will be fine. Naps sells good parts.

Wow, look at all the expensive **** in your sig line. Perhaps you should make the damned thing run, reliably, before dragging it thru an offroad catalog with a magnet attached! After all the work it took to install all that, I'd thinhk a couple of water leaks should be minor! ~ TEXX (IH8MUD member) 10/09

Just installed a Beck Arnley (spelling) brand master cylinder on my FJ60... no problems. I've bought a few "BA" parts without issue.

How much money are we talking about? It looks like the Aisin was about $100.

You guys have all those lovely brick and mortar stores to frequent. Why on earth would you buy online when you can drive down the street, buy it and bring it home?

I just threw a non-abs 80 booster and master on my truck. It stops great and the pedal feels good. it was only $30 too!

Yeah, I got it used. I have a friend that buys wrecked toyotas and parts them. I think he's been selling the booster/master for $50 here on MUD.
My master was shot on my 60 to the point where I would have to put the pedal to the floor to even try to stop. Now I can lock all 4 up on dry pavement with my 33s. And thats with the rest of the brake system stock!

Many of the aftermarket master cylinders may be made by the same vendor who builds them for Toyota, ours is!! The magic with the FJ80 or our cylinder is that it has a 1 1/16th" piston. ALL others have a 1" or smaller piston.
