Steering question

There is left to right play in the steering wheel before the car reacts and starts to turn.

Is this normal of our steering boxes ? Can this be fixed to be more responsive ?

Does normal maintenance of steering components eliminate this steering wheel play ?

Thanks in advance.

lots of reasons for the play. The steering box is only one of them. You need to look at the U joints and TRE's as well..

Steering box can be adjusted. Relay rod ends can be adjusted. tie and relay rod ends and the stering u-joints can be replaced withoug much trouble. But as Mace say's you first need to figure out where the slop is coming from. If you want to do the work yourself, do some searches, or purchase a copy of the body and chassis manual--or you can download a copy from here: http://forums.bauchan.org/portal/downloads.php
