TBI 350 Swap Clutch Slave Cyl. Question

This one goes out to those of you who've done the AA (Marks) SBC to Toyota MT installation using their bell housing. I've got an 86 60 and I'm going to replace the clutch slave cylinder and soft hose when I do the swap. In the AA manual, the instructions show adjusting the slave cylinder push rod. The post 4/85 60s are self adjusting and the pre 4/85 60s have the adjustable push rod.
Any advice on which one I should get? Do they both work?
Ant advice would be appreciated!
Bryan

Howdy! I just made my own from a section of all-thread. Grind one end down to a ball like the stocker, to fit in the slave cylinder, and then I used a wheel nut against the clutch fork. Add an extra regular nut for a jamb nut once you get it adjusted right. $5 and 30 minutes, then your done. John

What Inkpot did will certainly work for awhile, but threaded rod is very soft/low grade, and a Toyota adjustable push rod just doesn't cost that much.

Oddly enough, I did this because my stock rod bent. I forgot to mention that I used Grade 8 stock, and I think it is 1/2 or 5/8". Just small enough to fit thru the hole in the chevy clutch fork. It has lasted over 12 years so far. It's a lot bigger diameter than the push rod that came on my Piggy. John

I have the AA setup with yota 5speed. Initially I used the stock slave cylinder for my 86 LC, but I had a problem with the slave cylinder rod over-extending and coming out of the slave cylinder. I then went to the adjustable slave rod and have not had the problem since then. Did have to cut down the length on the adjustable rod some though, to get it to work right.

My engine is a 5.7 vortec...not a TBI, but I don't think there would be any difference between the two in this regard.

You can use an adjustable factory one after shortening it or you can make one as suggested. I did both on mine. I think I used a grade 5 bolt and never had an issue but there isn't a reason not to get a grade 8 so that is what I'd do.
