Just Finished My Motor...Wanna See?

Over the weekend I finished rebuilding my motor after almost 6 months. It took a lot of work but it's running so I must have done something right!

Looks great!

Nice color cruiser btw.

That no grease pic was without the pistons, I'm 100% I put the grease on. It's almost been 100 miles since and everything seems to be fine except for an exhaust leak, but thats on the pipe... here is some more

Check out the angle of the cruiser without the motor!

YUP, I hope your nuts and bolts are a little more organized than how mine were.

might have been alittle easier to install the motor, with the hood catch bracket (the long one) and the a/c condensor swung out of the way.

Awesome. Good job on the rebuild.

Did you take the block to a machine shop? Did you do a full rebuild?

I didn't find the a/c to be a problem, but I did think about that bracket and just went whatever. You do have to lift the motor a lot higher with that thing on there. The hardest part about putting it in was aligning it right to put it on the t-case.

I had to get the block honed, re-bored and machined because the P.O.'s are stupid and messed up BIG time when rebuilding themselves...(clutch in backwards and wrong sized rod bearings on the crankshaft)...it started out as just a rod bearing replacement but as I got deeper and deeper there were just more issues. However, I am glad I got the experience and don't have to worry about it for a while...Plus how many 19 year olds get to say they rebuilt their own motor!!

Either your motor replacement turned out to be too light weight, or it is seriously time for some new springs.

Congrats!

Don't forget to change the oil and filter after a short period of running it.
