Relocating (-) battery cable ground
I got some new cables from urban land cruisers. I hear it's a PIA to get to the negative ground location on the motor mount? I haven't looked myself but I hear it is behind and underneath the engine block somewhere...?
Has anyone relocated there grounding point?
Any negative side effects from not using the stock location?
This is on 84 fj60.

Er is this on a 62? Cuz the ground cable for a 60 is really short and its pretty much on the inner fender right next to the battery.

A short stub goes to the fender wall, then a longer lead from the same spot goes to the pass side motor mount. ULC suggests you relocate to the rear bolt for the A/C compressor mount. That's what I did. Works fine.
There may be diff instuctions if you have a 62. Check the ULC site

I've routed the cable to an unused threaded hole on the frame.

Exactly what I'm talking about!
So no problems..? Is it just because it's hard to get to or is the AC mount just a better location?

The stock location is hard to get to. Just cut the old one as short as you can at the Motor Mount and leave it there.
Connect the new Neg lead to the rear A/C bolt. It really doesn't matter where it goes, it's just a neg ground.
Make sure the leads from the head to the firewall, and the back of the T'case to body have good connections, too. It's a very nice set from them, plus you get the new Fusible Link - use it, keep the old as a spare.
