You are CORRECT on both counts sir!
However, I find that if I DONT have plans for improvement, OR Im totally chasing my tail (so to speak) Im bored and frustrated.
Anyway, The Vortec will go in before ANY chopping happens. Im really hoping that the gear reduction will open a whole new realm of wheeling for me offering more control and thus making the size and weight less of an issue.
Ive been having struggles with this rig in regards to wether or not it is the RIGHT FIT for what I want to be doing trail wise.
Either that, I just armor the PISS out of it and say F*CK IT...what fold, folds.
Know what I mean

My only concern with the bob, is the gas tank in the rear. Otherwise, that is a really bitchin option. It kinda looks like a 70.
Extending the WB seems like it will be REALLY costly in my estimation.

Chevy 63" springs, a longer rear DS and a sawsall I thought is all you need.

You know, there is nothing suprising about this comment
Any boat shop should be able to make you a top like that. They do that sort of thing all the time.

I really like that Green/Orange truggy out of Texas somewhere. That is a cool way to chop and extend the wheelbase. I wish I had pictures of it...

LOWTIDE!?!?!?!?!
WTF man?
I frickin LOVE that front bumper and valance removal.
Got any pics of what the rear looks like with the fuel cell back there?
I dig the bob, but Im just not in love with that idea.
That is what I liked about the flat bed option. I could elevate the bed so I wouldnt have to relocate the gas tank. Additionally, anything that I would smash up wouldnt matter anymore.
My wife HAAAAATES the ideas ive been looking at, accept Tapage's rig.

Tapage,
do you get a lot of water leaking in from the soft top?
If not, how did you end up keeping a seal?
I was thinking of a gutter type system that you would pull the top in front of to button down.

Not really ... get some from the zippers and sewing .. but accually it can be solved or minimize with this product ..
The reall issue at least for us ( down here ) it's the heat transfer .. my AC barelly keep the cabin fresh in a hot day .. ( about 88°F )
here you can see the alum rail that holds the canvas from front ..
It make my canvas be removable .. but sincerely I'm not gonna remove it soon .. and under the alum rail a good 3M silicon to seal it.
