but now I have gotten rid of my scary bumpsteer on 2 lane roads, I no longer have to carry a milk crate along to climb into the truck and my old crippled doberman can reclaim his perch as co-pilot on the way to the lake. I traded my SOA front axle to GLTHFJ60 for his stock 60 front axle regeared to 4.11 and got to see what a young guy will do for free shat, drive 1200 miles straight thru because he doesn't want to pay for a motel room, with only a 30 minute stop to load and unload axles in the middle. I also learned more about this truck than any I've ever owned before. I've owned her since April and it has been out of the shop and ready to roll a grand total of at least 14 days. Made the wife chest thumpin proud that I would sell a perfectly good 2001 Silverado to buy a permanent weekend project.
Here's one more pic of my storage box projectName: 100_1243.jpg

Next it's a rear bumper to hang that pretty new spare on and then attack the few rust spots and completely rebuild the cancered out lower tailgate.
Looks like I'm busy all next winter....

boxes are welded up from .063 aluminum, nothing fancy. The headrests aren't extra, I just drilled a couple of holes in my boxes for a place to store the headrests if I wanted to fold down the back seat.I'll get some more interior pictures posted. The whole interior is done in leather to match the exterior paint scheme.

They have 1 1/2 " flanges on bottom and back side(so you can access the extra space in body panels with stock interior panels removed) and are simply screwed into bed and the braces that interior panels used to be attached to with Tek screws. I borrowed plans I found on MUD, but being a sheetmetal worker, I used aluminum instead of plywood. At the front where the wheel well gets in the way, I used an .040 alum end so I could trim to fit and pop riveted it to the box.

So I don't have any bumpsteer. I bet it's because that pitman arm you have on there is an 80 unit, which has less drop than the stock 60/62 arm, which made the relay rod angle too steep. How does it handle now?

Handles great, this was definately the right move for me and this truck. Sure took me a long time to get all that brake line bled out, but other than that , no problem. My 1 week job just took a month.

As you can plainly see if you look back to pic #1 this photo contains Exrsa1's 2 case of beer/stock wheels and JohnnyC's I'll give you mine for yours front axle. Clearly a different cruiser.
As for the co-pilot, he's more of a backseat driver than actual navigator[ATTACH]Name: 100_1245.jpg
