Supposedly mine had already been done. I doubt it because the rear lap belts often have trouble retracting. How can I check to see if it's really been done and not just go by what the "dealer" says? Lots of times they don't want to deal with these trucks and will tell you whatever it takes to get you off the phone.

I gave away the KC lights on bumper and got some proper IPF lights....thought I ordered 6" but got the 8"....but bigger is better right? :P Also got the harness with it so it was complete setup with the 100w bulbs from Costco for $165 I think it was.

Installed lights on bumper and tried to decide between a spot weld on two nuts or red loctite to help prevent theft. Went red loctite even though part of mount is plastic...chance I got to take.

Then I did the harness install. it has two directions...one for Positive headlight switching and another for Negative headlight switching. I followed negative from recommendations here but deviated at end. Can fix if needed but was unsure so left it alone. Went pretty smooth.....finding out which light wire is constant POSITIVE was a bit of a challenge...got it on second try so had to cover up a nick on wire when testing. Then there are two grounds...one is bare earth ground. other ground comes from relay and goes to negative headlight wire or to ground depending on method you are installing. I had no idea what wire was the negative plus I have the upgraded harness from Kurt at Cruiser Outfitters so did not want to cut into it and splice them together. So I went and did it to the body as well.

Everything works like a charm so unless there is a big issue with the install I might take my chance. It has two sets of fuses and then the relay so it is pretty well isolated already and running straight to battery rather than through headlight harness. It only uses headlight wire to tell it when to turn on lights with HIGH BEAM.

Will get some better pics with my real camera this weekend...but the cell phone has to work for now.

Like I said the bulbs are 100W...the lenses are concave (dished) to help focus the light further downrange but still have good side dispersion as well....a hybrid lense I think. The cases are black with nice chrome on bezels. me likey...will try them out soon in mountains camping.

This weekend....

-knuckle rebuild
-install carb diaphragm i got with tuneup kit
-and if i get time, flush radiator and replace hoses

Friend and club member let me use his shop and he led me through a knuckle rebuild on first side with me doing a lot of the work and then left me on own on second side. He says he does one in 3.5 hours....took me 7 hours. LOL But I learned a lot and most of all came to appreciate a parts cleaning sink with solvent to clean 25 years worth of grease and oil and shit on my rig down there....

radiator hoses and carb diaphragm will be next weekend maybe LOL

did the diaphram you installed look identical to the old one, i got a rebuild kit and the shaft was straight instead of having it bent at the end like the stock one. also mine was a little longer and if i make my secondaries try to open by hand with the throttle linkage floored it just moves about 3/8 of an inch like the diaphram is not letting them to open, as if it was in a bind.

Not installed the diaphragm yet...hoping to do it this month as I ordered new silicone tube to replace all vacuum lines in hopes it will also help. I will let you know though...

I called Toyota directly about my recalls. No hassle at all. They even told me the exact dates that they had been done (seatbelts and a new gas tank on my '88 FJ62). Probably better to deal with Toyota directly and not a dealer.
