More pictures
Eric Shook fits up the bumper brackets with a little grinding action

Same

Drawer closed

Drawer Open. The thing spins perfectly and isn't even greased yet

Roof rack top rail tacked on

The second drawer pieces cut out and ready for welding

The front bumper with tubing bent around the main brackets and tacked in. As mentioned, this will be completely filled in with 3/16" plate so the winch is completely protected.

Roof rack substructure complete and test fit on truck.

front bumper pic
Just got this TXTed to me from the guys at the shop. (they are on fall break)
This is how they tied all the tubes together on the front bumper.
By the way, we are bending everything with a Pro Tools 105

The ProTools 105 is a pretty good bender. I think the JD2 is a little more user friendly though, especially for noobs like me.
Great work, keep it up!

SWEET bumper, I'm assuming the part over the winch is to protect it from theft?

Correct. It will have a remote cable in the inside of the cab. They are also designing a "T-Handle" to actuate the IN/OUT lever that will stick through a hole in the bumper into the winch

Work on the rear bumper
Like I mentioned, we are building what I would consider a Red Neck bumper, but after we weighed all the options it made the most sense. Its built from 6-5/8" Oil-field pipe with pipe caps. It will have a total of 3.2 gal of air capacity. They began work on it yesterday; more pictures to come of the progress.
The guys begin bending the swing-out spare tire carrier

Michal (Shes a girl) grinds after cutting out the relief for the frame rails.

Again

Got all the lights mounted into the roof rack; it will have a lockable "door" that sides over them to protect them from theft. All six lights are PIAA's with the outside two being fog and the four inside 15 degree driving lights.

Jeez that's a good $2100 on the rack lights alone.
That bumper looks like you stole it from the front of a train, how much does it weigh? (with and without winch)

Lights on the rack were only $480. - Autoanything.com has the cheapest retail prices on crap like this.
Bumper weighs under 100 pounds. 180ish with winch.

Yeah, it really is. The guys who designed it aren't off-road guys at all which allowed creativity into their design. So many of us that have been doing this for 10 years have a very exact picture of what a front bumper should look like (I blame ARB, Kamar, etc). These guys started from nothing and asked questions like, "How much impact should it withstand?" and "How can we FULLY protect the winch from theft and impact?" After asking themselves 10 or so questions, this is what they came up with.

Some recent work...
We put the truck on the lift to do the rubberized undercoating

Same thing from different angle

Got the first tool box done; showing that whoever sits on the tool box will have to be a small child. (I'm 6-3)

Tool box complete - it came out almost exactly how I had it built in my head. The other side is about 50% done

With the drawer open

Wow, look at all the expensive **** in your sig line. Perhaps you should make the damned thing run, reliably, before dragging it thru an offroad catalog with a magnet attached! After all the work it took to install all that, I'd thinhk a couple of water leaks should be minor! ~ TEXX (IH8MUD member) 10/09
