Question Aussie Locker and towing - all good? danger?

I have an Aussie Locker to put in the back of my truck, and am planning to do some serious towing in a month or two. Is there any reason I should wait till after the towing to put it in?

If its not locked it's like you never had it, that's what's great about an aussie locker.

I can see needing more power through corners with a trailer..... is that going to be hard on it?

Leave it unlocked unless traction becomes an issue.

The Aussie is an auto locker (called a Lokka in Aus?).

Good question
I have not had any problems with towing ( Rear Aussie fitted ) on tar .

( once where I was going up a hill on a dirt road , the rear wheels started losing traction and since it was locked the rear wheels lost traction at the same time resulting in the rear of the car sliding out down the camber of the road - it was on bend . Scary moment as the rear slid out with trailer hooked . I lifted foot of gas and car corrected . )

I say don't bother waiting. If you watch it when exactly you get off the gas in a turn, you'll be far enough ahead of the game. If you have a manual tranny, also watch when you clutch for turns. The locker will lock/unlock at weird times until you learn to adjust your driving. For the average guy skilled at wheeling or driving in general, that means about 1/2 hour practice.

I have towed an FJ60 on a trailer and a old Bronco on a trailer with my Aussie locked FJ60. I didn't notice the locker at all. I have an automatic so that smooths things out a bit.

Put the locker in as soon as you can and you will wonder why you didn't do it sooner.
