Driveshaft Angles and Pics

I have an opportunity to purchase a nice 60. I have detailed pictures of it. It is SOA and in good shape. However, the front driveshaft angle seems excessively sharp (too vertical). The front u-joint (front axle pinon) seems ok. However, the transfercase side of the front driveshaft seems akward.

Can you post some pics of your front driveshafts? No flexing, from the side? Thanks for the help.

Thanks for the pic. That sets my mind at ease as the one I'm looking at looks exactly like the pic you posted. I was sure it was too drastic out of the transfercase, but it's the same.

I've been "ghosting" here for a long time. The board is a great place to research-before-you-buy place. I think I'm ready now.

Hey LT, you might think about shimming that rear end up a little bit. I'd like to see that pinion up a little. Your thoughts.

my 60 was soa without a cut and turn by the PO and it seems to work OK, it is at the top of my list of improvment thought. It isn't too expensive to have one cut and turned after the SOA is done. You can probably get it done for around $200.

thats a shot of the front drive shaft

As for the rear I had it rotated 6degrees up and it gave a horrible groan. tryed it 4 degrees better but still could here it groan at certain speeds. I rotated it back to stock a lil while ago and the groan is gone. That rear drive shaft is so freaking long, It works much much better at stock angles. (my thoughts)

Oh and the pinion stays better oiled at stock angles.

Oops! Of course it is. There's that dang oil pan. Then have your thought about cutting those them knuckles? The oiling issue doesnt really take effect until your angles get ugly. As I understand it.
