Routing Wires
I was in the process of relocating my cb antenna from the rear of the truck to the front. I
When I wired my driving lights I routed the wires through the fierwall via a bundle of wires on the passenger side. I think the wires were wrapped in a yellow covering and went through a rubber boot on the firewall into the cab just under the glove box. I noticed there is another similar wire bundle on the driver side. These rubber booths don't allow many more wires through them.
Question: Is this were you guys have been routing your wires through the firewall? I need to get the large cb cable and connector through the firewall and to the front bumper. Any suggestions? Pictures would be helpfull.
Cheers,
ben

Drill another hole and use a split rubber gromet from any auto parts store to seal it off.

Ben,
If you don't have any more room to squeeze through oem holes, you can buy the rubber gromet things at the parts store. Dril a new hole whatever size you need and put a new gromet in. I have done this a couple of times. Higher on the firewall is better for water.
BTW, the truck is looking a little different that Katemcy! Coming along. You guys going again this year?

I used the grommet sealing the driver side bundle at the upper interior firewall. I put a stiff springy wire through and hauled my bundle through the hole. You might have to slit the grommet a bit to get the CB cable through the existing route...

Thanks for the help.
I'm glad to know you can buy the rubber gromets. I'll check to see how much the OEM ones are. Yes, I'm a dork.
Euclid,
I won't be going to Katemcy this year as I am in Indiana now. I won't have the time nor the money to make it out there. But I'm going to Badlands in Attica IN on Saturday.
Cheers

Problem using the OEM ones is getting the right size. If you don't fill it up with wire pretty tight it will leak, but you can probably look at what's on your truck now and use one that's similar.
Med school, right?
