Who wants a Toybox?

Just got off the phone with Dave at Marlin Crawler and there is still a hang up with getting the output shaft. BUT they do plan on still making the Toybox. How many people do we have here that would seriously be able to buy a Toybox now? I want the 4.7 Toybox. If they aren't going to be available, then I guess there is the Klune-V 4.0 David. So how many people do we have?

I can see myself getting one within 1 year. SOA cost is killing me at the current moment but I seriously want one eventually for my 62. What's the rough cost? Maybe I could be encouraged to get it earlier.

Dave,
Tcase and Auto trany are stock FJ62 configuration

Thanks for posting up Dave.

I highly recommend the toybox and want to see it available to other cruiser owners. The toybox and dual lockers can take me places I don't even want to drive my cruiser.

Is this a one time deal? If so then yeah I would buy one now. If not then right now it is on the back burner as I bought longs and the ARB front. I say about 9 months from now I would be ready.

87 2F H55F Stock t-case 38mm idler 4.70:1 toybox.

They cost about $1600 now.. the last one I bought was closer to $1800 but they dropped their price (something you rarely see).

I could use a 4.7 for an H55/split case (case is from an A440F, so larger idler?). I am probably a month out from being able to purchase. Not really chomping at the bit, but if it helps Marlin I am in.

I replied in the Fj40 thread. I am ready to buy now.

H41 tranny-19 spline output-more than willing to change to Marlin's 10 spline output.
Split case
Going in FJ60

If this doesn't happen soon, I am going SM465/Atlas.

Glad to hear there is a glimmer of hope.

I would like one as well. I have an H55 with the later 38mm idler split case. I want the 4.7 toybox.

Let me know when to send payment!

I would in the next 6 months. Either a h42 to split case in 19 spline or a SM465 to split case.

Also would consider SM465>TOYBOX>Splitcase

I have an SM420 in my 40 and like it, and the SM460 would be pretty BA in the Fj60.

That's 321:1. I could live with that.

I'd take one myself, but since I wouldn't get around to installing it until next year, I'd postpone the purchase until next year (or late this year). Other things are a little higher in priority, like dealing with rust.

As it sits now, it's an 83 60, H55F, and stock split case which I believe has 1.99 gears in it (or something like that). IIRC, the H55F forces me to get the 4.7 (oh darn, that's what I'd get anyway). The drivetrain will remain the same if I decide to go with a different body to get rid of the rust.

I've changed my mind about which transmission I want to use. I think I can swing getting an h55 so I would like a toybox for:
h55 > 4.7 toybox > split-case.

90 FJ62 A440, stock case. I'd like the 4.7:1 toybox.

I would expect to be waiting quite a while. All they were trying to do is gather numbers for estimating.

I want a 4.7 for my '88 62 with stock tc and A440. Talked to Marlin for about an hour, half of that under my truck, at Bakersfield last weekend. He affirmed they want to build these.

That is great news. By the time they actually have them made I'll have my 88 Fj62 SOA finished.

A440 and a Toybox would be a sweet wheeling combo.

Just to reiterate, in the next year I intend to purchase a toybox in 4.70 to 1 for a 16 spline output H42 and a 16 or 19 spline split case.

As soon as I sell my old Cadillac I am going to call Marlin with that intent. Hell, I'll need a seal and bearing kit for the trans and t-case also.
