I've pulled my front carpet because it was wet, and now I want to get that padding up that is stuck to the floor, without removing the thicker rubber/paint that is on the floor. I see you had some simple green, anything else you used to get your floor pans clean? Putty knife, wire brush, etc?

Nice tech input.

David - I don't know how Adam did it but I've always had a time stripping out jute, some foams, and similar materials. It never has been very clean or pleasant of a job. A combination of scrapers, cleaners, scrubbers, sometimes a flap disc depending on where I'm working, and lots of cursing and (sometimes) work for me.

Sounds like fun, I'll get into that this weekend, I hope.

Jute is the tar stuff on the floor pan right? I have read a few threads on here that people use dry ice to freeze parts of it, then hit it with a hammer so it breaks off.

Good question. I'm talking about the padding stuck to the tar stuff. Why get rid of the tar stuff?

Carp, I just used simple green and a variety of scrub brushes- you just have to clean them pretty often. It is not fun- but not impossible- hopefully your comes off a bit easier than mine.
