SOA Problem!!
ok the problem is the drivers side front is about 2 inches lower then the passengers. I am using the ruff stuff kit but the perches are the same hight. With no axle on the springs the drivers side is only 1/8 off from the other. I checked all my messurments and then rechecks both sides are exactly the same with frame tubes and hangers. So the passengers side just is not flexing as much as the drivers. I added 2 long leafs to each and took out the short leaf. The two main leafs are off the truck origionally and the adds are off anouther truck but are both the same. I really just dont know what to do. Will the spring settle? Any suggestions would be awesome. thanks

Are you saying that when off the truck, the spring packs measure from the floor to a line through the spring eyes is 1/8" difrerent? (long way to say spring height). __________________ ="Are you gonna sit there on that friggin computer all day or what?"The desert dwellin, roadrunner chasin, soooper-genius! I had/have a similar situation. I thought I had messed up the shackle reversal/hanger locations, but everything measures OK.
My remedy was to add 2 short stock leaves into the rear pack. Nice and level now. And yes, your stock springs will settle over time... __________________ 85' FJ60 - 2F, desmog, 4-spd, 4.88's, Aussie rear, SOA, 37's on 2" bs Copper State Cruisers #71 KavikOffRoad.com 60 Series porn |

maybe when you lower it the pivot points are binding? have you tried loosening everything a bit with the weight on it?
Oh and pics? |

Do your final torque-down with the truck on it's own 4 feet, ie, not on stands. It seems you mentioned this, but my read of your OP is hazy. Should I assume the spring hangers are welded in a new location post SOA? If so, you've then confirmed they are symetrical? __________________ ="Are you gonna sit there on that friggin computer all day or what?"The desert dwellin, roadrunner chasin, soooper-genius! My guess is that shuffling the leaves around is changing the final rate of the pack (side to side). If all of your mounting points are symmetrical, then it will only be a matter of re-shuffling the leaves to get it level.
Unfortunately, you won't know what combo will level it out until you drive the truck a bit... PICS! __________________ 85' FJ60 - 2F, desmog, 4-spd, 4.88's, Aussie rear, SOA, 37's on 2" bs Copper State Cruisers #71 KavikOffRoad.com 60 Series porn |

I don't know if it's just me, but I had a hell of a time gleening accurate info in this thread. Anyway, Kavik is right, new spring pack = new spring rates. Switching the AAL's side to side, and similar trial-and-error should help, but perhaps not eliminate your horrendous lean.

As I was doing my SOA I found a broken spring in one of the rear packs. I had it fixed at a local spring shop and had both rear spring packs re-arched. After I installed them the pack with the new spring (shortest spring in the pack) was about an inch higher than the other side. I figured I would need to re-pack to get level when I had the time. I drove it around for about a week without the rear shocks checking for vibrations before I welded the perches and shock mounts. After a few days the packs started to level out. The rig is setting level enough now but has a little stink bug to it. I hope it will set flat when I get the new bumper and tire carrier on. I would drive it for a while to see were things end up.
