Rear Full Floater Hub Seal Q (pic)

Hello --

I'm rebuilding my rear FF.

Can anybody tell me if this hub seal (for axle shaft) is supposed to sit flush with the hub rim, or slide further back?

The ones I pulled out were flush, but it looks like the seal is supposed to fit into the tapered area??

Can't find it in any manuals...

S.

it should sit flush... I dont see why or how it would fit into the tapered area anyhow...

Yeah, CFJ60, it occurred to me after I posted I could look at the sealing surface on the axle shaft to see where the seal should be.

Flush it is.

Thanks!

S.
