Aw crap, got another leak

Oil dripping down the front of my engine, after I had finally fixed the last leak (the oil pan gasket) a couple years ago. Lost half a quart of oil over the last two months.

Damn damn damn

I know it really ain't bad, but I've always prided myself on the fact that my engine never leaks and never uses any oil. 6 quarts in on an oil change, 6 quarts out when I change it the next time. And this is after using full synth for the last four years.

That's most often what it takes, and that puts it within 1/8" of the top line on the dipstick. Granted I usually do other work in the process, so each bottle spends about 15-20 minutes upside down in the funnel

I stand corrected. Just threw away my pile of oil bottles from my last oil change (finally cleaning out the garage, shaddap) and I used 7 quarts of oil.

Still though, I can't remember ever using 8 quarts. And I use the K&N 3001 oil filter (same size as the oldskool large Toyota filter).
