[Question] PCV Modifacations

Hey guys, as you might know, i did a desmog, the only thing i havent done was pulling the hose off the PCV and putting those little cone filters on it.

My question is this, where do i get the right size filters? Ive been to all my local auto parts stores, and none have them?

Anyway, any links would be cool, or any ideas or suggestions on how to do this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Luke

You mean the air rail?

You want the plugs for the head?

You want an air filter that attaches to the top of PCV valve? I don't know if you even need one. I don't know much about desmog, I live in CA.

Go to your auto parts store and just grab a breather cap and various sized grommets. they are cheap and you should be able to find one that fits. However, it the pcv entry is on the side of the valve cover (I can't remember where it's at right now) it will leak and you may want to find an after market valve cover with the vent on top.

On an engine in decent shape a closed PCV system saves a lot of smog for very little performance cost.

When I had a bad #5 cylinder my PCV system moved enough oil to coat the inside of the intake manifold (which isn't good for the environment or performance). I put an air/oil separator inline. It collected about a tablespoon or so every tank of gas. I simply emptied the canister back into the engine while filling up. My engine is now in very good shape (recently rebuilt) and moves a very small amount of oil through this line (probably 2,000-4,000 miles before I get a tablespoon).

PCV is good.

Just connect a hose from PCV valve to PCV fitting on intake.
Done.

Leave the tee connected to the HIC valve on the air cleaner.
It too is a Good Thing(tm).

I have time to build a carb and dizzy, if you can wait for 6weeks.

Let me correct myself. Actually, let me point out that I did not speak with knowledge. I was thinking old school, pre smog. Please disregard.
