well, its nice to have a spare...

My wife said something startling last week. We were camping and had the cruiser with us and I said I just wanted to baby it because the tranny's on its last legs. So she said..."don't worry to much about it, we can always tow it home if it goes out and besides you have a spare in the garage..." Never thought I'd hear that from her. To make a long story longer...I did by a used A440F and it is sitting in my garage waiting for the current one to die.

Well, It finally died this weekend. On my way to work, started slipping real bad, then...nothing. Just revving, so i pulled over turned the car off and then started it again. It drove a little then slipped again. Under about 5 mph, it was fine, any faster and it slips.

So this week I'll take some time off and swap the tranny's. I was really hoping to milk the old one long enough to put in an extreme VB in on the bench. Now it looks like I'll have to put the tranny in sans the new VB and then when it comes I'll install it under the truck. Anyhow...i've never done a tranny swap so...Let the games begin!

Women say the darnd'est things! Hey, you can still enjoy a VB, six of them! There's an Aussie beer from NSW called Victoria Bitters (VB, get it?)

So swap out trannies and enjoy a VB this weekend! Cheers,

Rick

before you pull it check the screen and do a rodney back flush and see if it helps.

I've already spoken to Rodney and the way he's described my particular issue is "hard seals." Therefore, the Rodney backflush won't do anygood. Also, as it stands i wouldn't even be able to get my truck up to 60mph, any faster than 10 and it slips out. Also, brand new tranny cooler waiting to go in with new trans. I think I will replace my cooling lines as well while its all apart.

Terrance, I thought VB stood for Very Bad...... and it is, in fact, one could describe it as camel's piss....
But hey, how typical a cruiser owner to just have a spare hangin around....

Can't add anything about VB but will say I'm happy you have a spare Hans. I didn't and I've been cruiserless for too long waiting for my H55F to be wrapped up. Good luck and I hope you're back on the trails quickly!
