60->62 Dash conversion

Anyone know positively if the Complete dash out of an 89 '62 will bolt right up in my 82 '60? Thinking of taking the whole kittenkaboodle out of my parts rig. I know Cruiserparts sells it all for a swap but I want to make sure it will work in my year. Anyone done this?

On a related note: can my '60 speedo be swapped into the '62 gauge cluster?

TIA

I don't know for sure, it sounds like a lot of work. Both the pad and steel under dash would probably need to be changed and there are a lot of brackets and clips for the heater and ducting that may not line up. Again, i haven't done the swap or are too familiar with the layout under the dash of a 62. may i ask why?

on second thought, you may be able to just swap the pad and dash inserts and leave the under-dash in place which would make the job a lot easier. Hard to say without the two side by side...

Mine's cracked and worn - this 62 has a perfect dash pad (how, I don't know, the rest of the rig was destroyed)

I have the complete 62 dash in my 87' FJ-60. It will bolt up, at least in an 87' FJ-60. Just keep track of where enverything goes and you will be fine. It looks overwhelming but it is very doable. The only things to take into consideration are that the rear heater control for the 60 is on the dash, and the 62 is on the center console. Are you swapping a 3FE into your 60? I am not sure how the 60 dash wiring harness would integrate into the 62 dash. If you are swapping a 3FE into your 60 PM me if you need any suggestions. I currently have a 60 speedo in the 62 dash because I didn't want to tamper with the mileage. But the speedo will not be correct, if everything was stock.

edit: I do not think the 62 dash pad will bolt to the 60 lower dash frame. I am pretty sure they need to go in as a unit. If you are doing this just for the dash I would try and find a 60 dash pad.

I was going to say, the 60's safari-style dash looks WAY better than the camel hump on the 62...

Personal opinion only.

I have an extra 60 dash but it's cracked and split, might not be what you're looking for. Also have a ratty dash mat to go along with it, it at least covers up the cracked dash .
