Well, I'll take the third tailgate batch. List on your website yet?

I got the new weatherstrip road tested. I can't say I ever real noticed a lot of wind noise before, but at highway speeds, my radio is now set to 25 rather than 30. Thanks, Kevin.

Ohhhh, that does it buddy, you just moved yourself down to 5th.

THERE IS NO LIST!!
Stuff is on order (very excited) I'll do the same with this as the door weatherstrip, seems to work well and it is easy on me.

Got my 4 door set. Thanks Kevin. Installed perfectly and made noticeable improvement in road noise. Doors now make a nice thunk sound when closed.

How about that tailgate kit?

I got a box in the mail today for everyone who signed up, you should see them the beginning of next week.

There is still one lonely box sitting here waiting for a new home though.

So when do you figure out the rear hatch / tail gate solution and accompanying sale of said feature?

The tailgate weather-strip is scheduled to be delivered on the 8th of May, along with the next roll of door weather-strip.
I am enjoying the new "padded grip" every time I raise or lower my tailgate.

Fiddled with the tailgate weather-strip today.
(still have a box of the 4 doors if anyone needs it)
The seal looks like it will work out quite nicely, take a look at how smashed the old stuff is.

I am not real keen on how the welting worked on the headliner lip, not sure if it is really going to help the seal at all, think it may be better to just go with a piece of straight edge trim. It is very nice to have it cleaned up though, the old edge trim was pretty ratty.
I wanted to use the same material so as not to need to order another roll but the fit is not as good as I hopped. Even though the metal lip is the same size, the headliner wraps over it and makes for too tight a fit, you can see in the one pic how the edge gets all wavy. I also had to trim the welt back since it wont fit under the plastic trim, the edge trim continues under the plastic end cap, but the cut welt makes it look sloppy.

In the top pic here you can see where the water has been seeping around the old weather-strip, I cleaned the dirt off so I will be able to see if any water gets past the new seal, that will help me determine if the second welt is needed as well.

With the tailgate shut the new welt is nice and compressed.

The best part of the whole thing is still the edge trim on the tailgate lip. It protects the edge, makes the lift gate seal solid, and it works like a nice padded grip, I grin every time I close the tailgate now.

I have to say... the ol' girl is much quieter now! So much so that the girlfriend noticed the difference on the highway without me even mentioning it. Also, don't get nearly as much exhaust in the cab when I'm idling at a red light... just a side benefit.

Thanks again, Kevin! You rock!

Kevin, I'd love to come up and take that last set off your hands if Olympia doesn't. That and I gotta come up and drop off your jigsaw.

Let me know when this week I should drop by.

Just a minor little improvement there.

Glad you got yours Kevin.
Hey Brandon, got your paypal, I will send your box out tomorrow.
Johnny, got another roll of door strip in yesterday so we can cut a set off that.
I still need to figure out the cost for the tailgate strips, since you're throwing money around like a big spender with a "real" job.
You can swing by pretty much anytime like usual.

Kevin and I put the whole shebang on my truck yesterday. Let me tell you, the new weatherstripping is WICKED nice!! The doors shut nice and firmly now, after some adjustment of course. They have a nice pop when they open up now, as opposed to the tinny sound that they had before. Even with my busted driver's window regulator, I can definitely hear the difference. The truck has less road noise which is always a good thing. Thanks Kevin!!

One thing of note: ensure that your catches aren't completely rotted away so that you can adjust them. If they are rusted, then start putting pbblaster or something on them now so they loosen up. We had to use a BFH on the catch for my tailgate because of how rusted it was!

I thought BFH were manditory on all cruiser modifications. Getting my 8 lb sledge ready for my door wheather stripping install as we speak. Have a great day and thanks again Kevin for your wonderful ideas and production capability. Sunshine from SC to you.
