The sitcks will be up a little farther when it's all finished. I got the high/low, in/out knobs form Marlin although you can't see them.

A little problem I'm having with the Ruff Stuff parts. Rotating the pinion angle up makes the hole for the front bolt too close to the housing. I spoke to Dan a while back about this and he was going to do a little redesign and get me an up-dated piece but I haven't seen it on my door step so far.

Jason and I talked about this today. What about welding a nut on the bottom side and just run a bolt itno it kind of like the Dodge 60s? Or Jason thought of using a socket head cap screw. The narrower head might fit from the bottom.

With the ToyBox moving the t-case back some 6"+ I would think my pinion angle would be less that someone without it. So the plate is deffinatly an issue. I still haven't got enough angle IMO.

I'd still need to grind the poo out of a nut to get it to fit. The socket head might work. Do you think National Hardware would have one? I'm still going to call Dan on Monday and see where he is with it.

If any place in town would it'd be National. I've got some decent sized Socket head cap screws from them.

What is the length from the bellhousing to your front output? On Jason's we are looking @ somewhere between 42 and 46" so we won't need a ton more pinion angle.

Just curious from your pics what we will be looking at.

Yeah I remember the 420. From the back of the block to the fron output location. Curious how much further back Jason't front output will be.

I'll try and get you a rough est. tonight. Nothing bolted together but I can add.

Before you pull this drive train, get me a measurement from the bottom of the frame to the bottom of the drain plug please.

FWIW I'll be 28.5" from bellhousing to front flange, not 47" like I thought

T-case. I want to get the angle of the drive train as close to what it was. I forgot to measure before I pulled it out.

Splitcase freshened up and ToyBox assembled. weal-link isn't the only one with the cool sight tube. I safety wired them to make sure the slip fittings don't come loose.

I've had this Marlin Built SM420 on the shelf for a couple years. I was planning on using it in my FJ40 but using it in the Wagon will get me on the trail with the super gozlow gearing. A good friend machined the indexing ring and sleve for the bearing retainer. This 420 is an early model with the oil slinger on the input shaft so I can't use the AA unit. Extreme Bends isn't making these parts anymore due to demand either.

I ground the side of the high/low shifter rod to rotate it 90deg. This will let me run the twin sticks I mentioned earlier. DO NOT TRY THIS WITH THE CASE ASSEMBLED. You will loose the rod into the case and then have to take it apart anyway.

Quit bustin my OO and go make babies. .

Let see since Jason isn't happy with my reporting, I stabbed the trans ,adjusted the clutch, cut holes in the floor for the shifters and tinkered with the twin sticks.

There, happy now.

I had to knock off at 4:00 to sit with the boy and get ready for Easter. I'll be back on it Monday unless I can find a way to excuse myself tomorrow between church and egg hunts.
