Bad SOR Service Makes Good.

About 9 months ago, I got a stainless EGR pipe from SOR. It was too short. When I called them they told me they knew it was too short when they sent it and that they weren't making any more. Recently found out from a MUDder that SOR did make more and they now fit. I called SOR today and they are going to take back my EGR pipe and send a replacement. I threw a big fit about it on MUD when the pipe was too short. Thought I should mention it here as well, when they resolved the issue.

Glad to hear they are sending you a new one. How much are they going to charge you to ship it?

Great! I ordered one about a month ago so it's probably going to be short. I haven't installed it yet....I'd hate to find out it's short when I'm ready to slap it on. Ugh

Good man Duck, nice of you to mention that they made good, although it took some time.

Ah, fudge.... I got one sitting on the shelf waiting for install (bought about 2 months ago)... How do I know if it's too small ? (should I ask my wife ??)

No, seriously, lemme take a pic of the SS one next to the OEM and post.

So is this too short ??

I don't know if it's just the camera angle, but it does look like it's short enough to cause some headache. Guess I'll be calling SOR tomorrow.

No, camera angle is not distorting. SS pipe is about 1/4 -3/8 shorter. Anyone know if this is the problem batch ?

Props to you for following up. However, I'm not sure that after 9 months replacing a defective part - known to be defective when it shipped, is "making good." But I'm glad it worked out for you and glad the eventually got you squared away.

too short, gonna not work I think. But these SOR pipes(when the right length) are great when used with the OEM gasket......DO NOT use the kevlar SOR gasket

the 2 I have used were longer than the OEM and had to cut down....which is fine

Mine was over an inch too short. I got it back in March 07 I think. My understanding was that they ran a new batch that was the right length in June or something. I would guess that it is o.k. but don't know. Here is a pic when I tried to install the one that was too short-

I'm glad I saw this post because I was trying to install my SOR pipe and it was too long. What's going on with the Quality Control on these things? Should I cut it down myself or send it back?

Just cut it down yourself. Too long is not an issue.
