Wile E Coyote
Out in the streets, they call it murder!
This is not new info, but perhaps newly with pics.
For those of us that wrench on our own junk, (and learn best w/ pics) do yourselves a favor and split your fan shroud after you 1st have to pull it. The next go round will be mucho better, as the rad or fan can then stay in place.
I split mine 2 yrs ago when I 1st bought the rig, and had to replace the radiator.
Today, I replaced the belts, and I saved a lot of time by leaving the bottom half of the shroud and the rad in place.
Personally, I used some 20 ga. sheet metal cut to size, and sheet metal screws to retain some rigidity and airtightness. Followed that with RTV along the inside of the joint to be extra analicious. My pics are after putting it back together today.
Be particular about placement of the cut line, keeping in mind you'll have to later get to the screws, and to not interfere with the shroud mounting bolts.
Barely 1/4 job just cutting, then rejoining shroud.
