Is a 2F head a 2F head ?

I've an 86 FJ60; seems like some tweak changes over prior years; don't know if changes were to engine....

So what about an engine head : any ol' 2F head work for any year 2F engine ?

Thanks

nope, earlier heads had differernt combustion chambers (larger) than the newer heads.

There are different castings. However I do believe that any 2F head will bolt to a 2F block. You may end up with a different volume in your combustion chamber, but it will bolt up. Some of the earlier 2F's have domed pistons if I remember correctly.

closed vs open chambers.

All will bolt up. But you will have LOUSY compression ratio with the large chamber heads and flat top pistons.
