| Can you fix the lean with a shackle? I put a brand new Pinnacle 3" suspension in a while back and my 87 is leaning pretty bad to the left. I switched the rears but it didn't help. I guess I have the famous lean, although I'm not sure why it would do this with a new suspension.
I'm spring under so I'm aware I can drop the high corner. I really don't want to do this. I hate the thought of losing lift and I also hate when these Cruisers look like their ass is dragging.
Is it possible to put in a longer lift shackle on only one side? Well, I know its possible but how would that effect the suspension and drive?
I probably only need about 1". I have the inversion shackles, 4" pin to pin. I see they sell some at 5 1/2" pin to pin. If I remember, you don't get the full lift from a shackle, so perhaps the 1 1/2" difference would end up being about right. Anyone ever tried this?
Thanks.

| I dont think different length shackles would be a good idea. I have the pinnacle leaves and had a little lean, it turned out i installed the rears on the wrong sides.
If swapping the rears didnt help, i would tell JTO to send you a new set of rears. The quality control on those springs kinda sucks, mine are about 2 years old and are doing great, some people have major issues.

| Its jtos brand, i think canadian made. It seems 50/50 split, your springs are either fine or really shitty. Doesnt seem to be much rhyme or reason to it.

| Running longer shackles changes the pinion angle, hence the need for shimming when installing longer shackles. Though shimming usually isn't needed on the rear because the driveline is long enough to not cause any binding or pinion angle issues, if you ran a longer shackle on only one side, it would cause some weird twisting issues I would think. Not sure what kind of damage or issues that would cause, but they can't be good.

| I don't recommend using a longer shackle on one side than on the other. mtb has it right; it would induce a slight torque into the axle. It would also load one leaf pack one way and the other one in the opposing way. Can't be good.
Back to the manufacturer/retailer is the route you want to go. |

| If you end up keeping them, drop the high corner and use the 5 1/2" shackles. |
