tranny swap?? 5 speed into FJ 62

hi i was wondering if anybody has some kind of hands on experience putting a 5 speed (fj55 tranny?) into an FJ 62. i know it can be done and has been done, but i am curious as to how long it takes, what the cost would be, can it be done in the driveway (with air tools and basic mech knowledge), if so will i spend more on tools then if i paied someone to do it? also does the computer need to be reprogrammed, and what about all the other bugs that im sure come with this project? o and your thoughts, is it worth it?

search for H55F, you'll get more than you care to know.

And it isn't out of an FJ55.

I looked into this and here are the rough/approximate numbers I remember:
-$3000 for a serviced H55F
-$850 for the conversion kit from cruiserparts.net (who get mixed reviews but I didn't see anywhere else that you could get all the parts in one package)
-$1000-$4000 in labor depending on who you talk to.

You mentioned doing it yourself. Do a search for Dunbar + H55 and you will find his long detailed description of installing one in his own FJ62.

I never saw any specific information about performance. Everyone says it transforms the truck. Never saw any info about gas mileage; probably no change. Also the H55 5th gear is actually less overdrve than the A440 4th gear.
