engine keeps cutting out

my rig is desmogged finally, and as of this past week, when she's running, the engine just sputters and dies. there seems to be no rhyme or reason. the engine will cut out at varying rpm's. i'm on my way to grabbing a vac gauge. until i post readings, does anyone know what this sounds like? thx!

Do you still have your idle cut solenoid in place, wired as it should be?

yes. the computer is confused and is closing the solinoid.
if you ground it, that keeps it open.

Part of your "desmog" likely disabled the vacuum switch. The emissions computer thinks you are decelerating and is shuting off the fuel cut solenoid. Grounding it to keep it on should fix the stalling issue but may also lead to dieseling on shutdown and backfiring when decelerating.
