I just got a price quote from the guys @ TIC. They said $1400 euro plus $300 euro shipping. That is alot more than the $750 us that somebody else said. That price is for the whole kit, heavy duty grade.

The kit cost Eur 1.440,- (ex. VAT)
Shipping per FedEx will cost +/- Eur 300,- (I have to check Monday, however,
I need a zip code)
The weighs +/- 70 Kg

The kit consists of:
2 front springs (2 leaf) = Eur 144,50 each
2 rear springs (4 leaf) = Eur 178,00 each
4 KONI Heavy Track shock absorbers
4 greasable TIC shackles with anti inversion.
4 greasable TIC spring pins
2 U-bolt axles kits (4)
1 full vehicle bush kit (24 bushes)

The springs can be bought separately but you have to keep in mind that you
need to find the suitable shocks and anti inversion shackles.

On the rear axle the spring is mounted in a rubber mounting. This mounting
has to be removed completely and the TIC spring has to be mounted directly
to the axle.

They are available, but only if you mean if they can be shipped in. I do not know of any US suppliers.

I'm going to be needing a set of springs for my stock truck this winter and I'm looking hard at Parabolics.

Good to see this topic bumped up and re-visited.

If you have another source for parabolics, I'd go with them. I'm not sure what the problem is with TIC and Great Basin Rover. I badgered them for months trying to get springs for my 60, and they kept telling me that they had production problems, but that they were going to get them. (See previous posts in this thread) When I emailed TIC in The Netherlands they never replied, but simply forwarded my email to Great Basin Rovers. I suspect GBR doesn't want to lay out enough cash to buy a minimum order. If that's the case, I wish TIC would find a LC vendor who will. Or it could be that TIC has some kind of manufacturing or financial problems. I'm now real leery of buying stuff from people who are not well know and well capitalized LC vendors.
I think I probably made a mistake of ordering a set for my FJ 40. They came via UPS as promised, but the guy at GBR told me just to get OME bushings for them. I have yet to find any bushings that will fit. There's a thread in the FJ 45 section of a build-up where a guy named Matt installed them. He had to cut down SOR poly bushings with a lathe to make them work. As I don't have a lathe, or know anyone who does, the springs are now sitting in my garage until I can get access to one.

Ray Wood of
http://parabolicsprings.com

made some FJ40 Parabolic Suspensions- priced ~$700. He quit making them because of the lack of interest. As far as I know his website never reflected the fact that he had TLC springs available and I only became aware of them when I emailed him to ask about them directly. Perhaps if there is enough interest he'd be willing to re-enater the market- he still makes loads of them for Series Land Rovers and has pleased customers all over the world.

if anyone is interested in a North American source for Parabolics for Land Cruisers Ray still might be your best bet.

Parabolics on a Rover

Hello all,

I restored a 67 Series 2A 109 Station Wagon a couple of years ago,and after MUCH research, decide on TIConsole parabolics with Bilstein shocks. I am pretty sure I went with the heavy duty ones. All I can say is that the ride was NIGHT AND DAY better with the parabolics!! Better on and off road manners, better handling, better wheel articulation, better everything. Probably around 2" lift, but my old springs were pretty shot. The one criticasm that I found in my research was a few guys experienced some premature spring sagging, but I never noticed that. I sold the truck not too long after the rebuild, and kept in touch with the new owner, and he never mentioned anything about sagging springs.

I JUST purchased a 83 FJ60 w/60,000 original miles, and I would definitely consider parabolics as a suspension upgrade. I never knew they were available for Cruisers.

Just to give an update on this. MAF seems to be advertising TIC Parabolics on the 4th or 5th page of the new Toyota Trails. I called and they have put an order in and expect to recieve multiple sets (don't know how many) in ~45 days. They ordered both 40 and 60 series. Pricing has yet to be determined.

I would be interested in feedback on these since there was so much trouble with sourcing in the past.

As of right now, I think we are going to be the only U.S. distributor for the Land Cruiser parabolics. TIC actually put the add in Toyota Trails, a little soon IMO. They springs are still being manufactured, but we should have plenty of both 40 and 60 sets in stock in about 45 days. I will try to give updates as soon as they come up. We are really looking forward to getting these springs in.

Steve

We have them on a FJ45 project, they are smoothest riding spring out of the box bar none.

Flex right out no problem, a year later and they have held thier lift well.

Here is the manufacturer website, http://www.parabolicsuspension.com/index.htm.

Currently we have a little of everything on order, light and heavy duty 60 series kits. Light and heavy duty 40 kits, and even some mini truck kits to try out. We havent put the complete kits together yet because the springs have not arrived, but we are planning on doing different level kits with OME shocks and things like that. We are alos looking into doing custom parabolics with taller lifts (like 4 inch) but I'm not sure if this can be done or not. For now the springs are designed for about 2-3" lifts I believe.

Steve-o,

What type of warranty would the parabolics have? Also concerned about availability or replacement parts if suspension fails out of warranty (or in warranty for that matter).

I took this warranty info straight from the website...

"Warranty
TIC Parabolic suspension systems are warranted against defects in material and workmanship for 2 years or 40.000 Km, from date of purchase. Labour or shipping charges are not covered. Components which have been abused, fitted to rally / race vehicles or fitted in combination with non original modifications, like body lifts etc., are not covered by this warranty. "

I am hoping to have these in stock permanently so getting replacement parts should not be an issue.

Steve

I'm not really interested in a big lift .. most in overal soft and flex .. coz with mi SO and shackle R kit I get good lift.

I had wanted to go with dakars but have been interested in parabolic springs for a long while now.

Glad to hear that MAF is taking the leap.

I can't wait!

Steve-O,

One other question (kinda on the nick-picky side, but worth asking): I believe that OME has factored in the LC Lean in their spring design. Will the parabolics address this?
