Fuel Supply trouble. Help?

So, I bought this fj60. It had a bad radiator, I overheated it once, then parked it for about a month while working on it. got the radiator in, drove it on a couple short trips with no problems, then after a week of sitting, it would not start. replaced the fuel pump, checked the cut solenoid, and it still will not pump enough gas to keep running if I put fuel in the carb. any ideas? My wrenching skills are nothing special, but I am no dummy. could it be the pump in my tank? and would that necessarily mean me removing the tank? because that would be terrible for me, having no flat work surface to speak of. any help is much appreciated....
