You could use the rad support from the Bj and go Round headlights......

Looks like a great project when they are both lined up

I didn't know that 3bs were that responsive! Excellent build.

Are you going to keep it standard? If so, are you going to swap out the entire pedal bucket?

Yeah, I am swapping the pedal bucket, flanges, drive shafts, xfer, tranny, motor, gas tank, radiator etc.

Thanks Orangefj45 for the write up:

I am following his lead on the pedal bucket swap.

3B's are pretty torquey on the bottom. They propel the truck pretty easy, but its the top end on long hill and highway where it runs out of steam.

more pics

I used my regular pressure washer and some degreasser to get most of the grime off.

I am renting a hot water pressure (Landa) washer to finish the job

http://forum.ih8mud.com/showthread.p...ighlight=landa (see post 7 & 18)

This will remove ALL remaining dirt/grease.

I did this on my last LC and was VERY impressed with the results.

http://forum.ih8mud.com/40-55-series-tech/45844-my-new-pair-fjs.html (posts 13 - 15)

After a good steam cleaning, I will refinish the underside.

Al,

I took your advice and removed the chrome trim from the 62.

I started with the roof and de-chromed the drip rail.

I found PLENTY of dirt and moisture, but NO rust. WHAT A RELIEF!!!

ALL the dirt was cleaned up and the paint underneath was waxed.

Next, I then moved to the rockers.

They were fine, no rust or damage. I was not so lucky on the drivers fender.

There was a chunk of mud and a nice rust hole. (see pic)

I am glad it is down here instead of on the roof.

1000 thanks for helping me keep my cruiser rust free!!!

ebay scores

"Toyota Landcruiser Engine Repair Manual covers the B, 3B, 11B, and 13B-T 4cyl diesel engines. It is a factory Toyota manual sold in Canada to service the BJ-60(Station Wagon) and the BJ-42(short wheel-base like the FJ-40) vehicles. It has been out of print for over 10 years now and is tough to find. It measures 11"x8 5/8"x 1/2". It is in excellent condition with very little sign of use. Tough to find one in better shape."
